The four-day Exam Review class took place in Sandston, Virginia. The class assisted students who intend to take either the “Fundamentals of Surveying Exam” or the “Principles & Practice of Surveying Exam.”

The instructors were well-received for their knowledge on their subjects, including; Yeoanny Venetsanos, Lisa Goodwin, Danny Williams, Larry Brownley, and Douglass Potts. Chip Richardson mentioned, "That their dedication, loyalty, and desire to give back to these young surveyors were very much appreciated." He singled out the newest instructor, Lisa Goodwin, to mention that as "a fairly young surveyor herself, she is already giving back to the profession."

While Thomas Neblett, a student participant in the class, has mentioned the class "was very informative and was information that will need studying no matter what test you will be preparing for. The handout binders were very helpful and I will use those throughout this journey."

Neblett also emphasized Richardson's thoughts by saying, "The teachers of each session were very knowledgeable and understood the subject material. I recommend this course and will be attending more in the future."

For students sitting for upcoming exams, such as the state portion of the exam on April 20th, the classes by Doug Potts and Larry Brownley were filled with useful information. Gregory Steinhilber, a student of these classes, thought that they provided information that was pertinent to the test.

However, one of the most important common themes from attendees was the personal interaction and the positive reinforcement that students obtained at the exam review class. Taking the next step into your career can be daunting for anyone, but the support system offered at Virginia Association of Surveyors, is second to none.
