Michael Zmuda of Mechanicsville, professional land surveyor for Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson and a Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS) member, has been reappointed to the Board of the Architects, Professional Engineers, Certified Interior Designers, Land Surveyors and Landscape Architects. Zmuda is a former state surveyor engineer with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). He is also a graduate of the Surveving Engineering program at the University of Maine.
Zmuda's first term expires on June 30, 2018. He was recommended to Governor Northam for reappoitment by VAS President Kevin Shreiner with an endorsement from the VAS Board of Directors. Shreiner mentioned that, "Mike's experience in the private and public sectors make him a valuable resource for the APELSCIDLA Board. Having a VAS member in that prestigious position is an honor and a privilege."
During his first term on the APELSCIDLA Board, Mr. Zmuda has served with distinction. He has demonstrated a commitment to the public health, welfare and safety and served in an objective, ethical and professional manner. Doyle Allen, APELSCIDLA survey section chair and VAS past president said, "Mike brings a diverse perspective and experience so necessary for all the business that the board conducts. On to of that he is deliberate in his thinking and always willing to take on the work."
