Four Phases of Producing a House Location Plat
by George O'Quinn

The Land Survey is usually represented at the settlement table in the form of a Map or Plat. The plat is the final work product of the Land Surveyor and many do not know of the process and effort required. "Splash for Cash"
Bob Taliaferro spends a moment describing his co-worker who was recently featured in the Virginian Pilot.

He says, " All I can say is we have been running sections in Virginia Beach from Sandbridge to Norfolk for the last 15 years this way. We do it in the spring and fall as to not get underfoot with the tourist and have milder conditions. We have found the best way is the conventional method of surveying through the surf zone. We have utilized more advanced methods for the upper beach with GPS data collection and the offshore with hydrographic techniques. You can say we “Wade for Money” or “Splash for Cash”."
