TCC created the Land Surveying certificate in 2007 and it was approved by the APELSCIDLA Board on September 13, 2007 as a “survey apprenticeship program approved by the board” pursuant to subsection 5 of regulation 18 VAC 10-20-300. I have attached a copy of the approval letter. In 2015, TCC entered into an articulation agreement with ETSU. A copy of the articulation agreement is attached. To address low enrollment, program revisions were made for the 2017-18 academic year to offer the courses required for the certificate in an online environment. We have seen a small bump in enrollment in the 2017-18 semester and are hopeful with the support of the VAS enrollments will continue to grow. TCC has been committed to the surveying profession as shown by our investment of over half million dollars in surveying equipment over the last several years.
